SunExpress Announced New Standarts for Safe Flights

SunExpress has put together its new travel standards that has been implemented in line with the regulations imposed by the authorities to allow its passengers to travel smoothly in one video. The video, which describes each stage experienced by the passengers from arrival at the airport to baggage claim, provides detailed information on all measures and regulations such as aircraft disinfection procedures, rules to be followed at the airport and inside the cabin, and the PCR test requirement, which is required to be presented before flights from Turkey to Germany.

SunExpress Deputy General Manager Ahmet Çalışkan stated, “Since the very beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak, which has affected the entire world negatively, we are implementing all measures taken by all national and international authorities immediately and without compromise. We are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and health of our guests and crews. In this video where we cover our new travel standards, we aim to guide our guests on the health and safety rules they must follow before their trip to provide them with a comfortable and relaxing flight experience”.

Adding that the wellbeing and safety of their passengers and crews is and will always be their utmost priority, Çalışkan emphasized that they will continue to improve their measures and practices in close collaboration with the relevant authorities to ensure the safety and health of their guests both on the ground and up in the air

SunExpress advises its passengers to arrive at the airport three hours before departure due to hygiene and social distancing rules and reminds that it is mandatory to wear masks on all its flights. The airline has also updated its in-flight services to minimize contact. While the limited service will only be available on flights that are more than two hours long, SunExpress will no longer offer meals on flights under two hours. According to directives from the relevant authorities, the airline will not accept any cabin baggage on board except essential items such as laptops, handbags, briefcases and baby items. SunExpress will also distribute disinfectant wipes to passengers on board all its flights.

All passengers travelling from Turkey to Germany are required to take the Covid-19 test and those who do not submit a negative PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test result within 48 hours prior to their arrival will not be accepted on board the flight.

Disinfection procedures approved by the international authorities are being carried out regularly on all aircraft in the SunExpress fleet. Each aircraft has the High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtering system that is also found in hospital operating rooms. These filters, which have a 99.9-percent success rate against all known viruses including the coronavirus, refresh the air every three minutes from top to bottom during the flight.
